Afrobeats superstar Davido has released his sixth studio album, ORIADE, a 13-track project that arrives as the singer marks 15 years in professional music.
The album, released Friday across major streaming platforms, follows his previous projects, Omo Baba Olowo: The Genesis, A Good Time, A Better Time, Timeless and 5ive. Davido said the title combines the Yoruba words “Ori” (head or destiny) and “Ade” (crown), reflecting themes of purpose, fulfilment and destiny.
ORIADE features collaborations with Nigerian artistes Mayorkun, Fola and Llona, Ghanaian rapper Black Sherif, American singer Leon Thomas and French-Malian star Aya Nakamura. The album rollout began in June with singles including I Know Who I Be and Gimme Dat Ting.
The project explores identity, family, self-belief and Nigerian excellence, while drawing strongly from African and Yoruba-inspired sounds. The release marks another milestone for Davido, who rose to prominence with Dami Duro and has become one of Africa’s most prominent global music exports.
