The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has announced a 14-man Junior YellowGreens squad for the ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Africa Qualifier Division 2, scheduled to hold in Rwanda from August 9 to 15.
Head Coach Daniel Gim said the team, captained by Rahmon Ali, emerged after a rigorous three-phase selection process in Abuja and Lagos. He praised the players’ technical ability, discipline and determination, expressing confidence in their readiness for the continental challenge.
Gim said the squad’s ultimate ambition goes beyond winning Division 2, with the focus on securing promotion to Division 1 and earning a place at the ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup. He urged the players to remain committed to hard work, discipline and professionalism throughout the campaign.
Nigeria will face Uganda, Ghana, Rwanda, Mozambique and Sierra Leone in the tournament, with promotion to Division 1 at stake as the Junior YellowGreens continue their quest for World Cup qualification.
