Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has been ranked Africa’s best-selling artiste of all time after recording 14.46 million Equivalent Album Sales (EAS) worldwide, according to global music data platform Chartmasters.
The milestone was shared by Nigerian music platform The Debut Hub, citing Chartmasters’ latest figures. Equivalent Album Sales combine physical album purchases, digital downloads, single sales and streaming activity into a standardised metric used to measure an artiste’s overall commercial success.
According to the report, Burna Boy’s impressive total reflects the global popularity of his music across streaming platforms and digital stores. Since breaking into the international spotlight with his 2018 hit “Ye,” the singer has continued to build a strong global audience through successful albums, including African Giant and Love, Damini, as well as sold-out international tours.
The latest ranking further cements Burna Boy’s position as one of Africa’s biggest music exports, highlighting the growing global influence of Afrobeats and the commercial success of Nigerian music on the world stage.
