TEMS MAKES HISTORY AS FIRST FEMALE ARTIST WITH RIAA DIAMOND-CERTIFIED SINGLE IN THE U.S.

Nigerian singer Tems has made history by becoming the first African female artist to earn a Diamond-certified single in the United States.

The Grammy-winning artiste achieved the milestone through “Wait For U,” her hit collaboration with Future and Drake. The song has surpassed 10 million certified units in the U.S., with music tracking platform Chart Data reporting that it has now reached 11x Platinum certification.

The achievement makes Tems one of only two African artists to earn a Diamond-certified single in the United States, alongside Wizkid, who previously reached the milestone through his collaboration on “One Dance.”

For many fans, the feat is another sign of the growing global influence of Nigerian music and Afrobeats. As Tems continues to break barriers internationally, her success is inspiring a new generation of African artists aiming for the world stage.
