Colombian pop star Shakira, Grammy-winning Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy and Uganda’s famous Ghetto Kids have begun rehearsals for their highly anticipated performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show.

Videos circulating online show the artistes dancing with members of the Ghetto Kids during rehearsal sessions, building excitement ahead of FIFA’s first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime entertainment at the World Cup final.

The final, scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, will see Spain take on Argentina in what is expected to be one of the most-watched sporting events in the world.

Shakira and Burna Boy recently collaborated on “Dai Dai,” the official song of the tournament. FIFA says royalties from the track will support the Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million to provide children worldwide with access to quality education and football opportunities.

Uganda’s Ghetto Kids, a dance troupe made up of orphaned and vulnerable children from the Katwe slums in Kampala, gained international recognition through their energetic performances and appearances on global talent platforms. They were specially invited by Shakira to join the halftime spectacle.

The show is expected to combine music, dance and football in a global celebration that will be watched by millions of fans around the world.
