ANUFEST 2026 is set to create opportunities, celebrate culture and boost tourism across Anambra State.
Organisers of the Anambra Unity Festival say the event is expected to generate about 3,000 jobs across sectors including hospitality, transportation, media, printing and other local businesses. The festival, themed “Tomorrow Meets Today,” will take place from September 21 to September 27 across all 21 local government areas of the state.
According to organisers, activities will include football tournaments, wrestling competitions, cultural displays, tourism excursions, youth entrepreneurship programmes, masterclasses and business forums. They say the festival is designed to promote unity, youth empowerment and economic development while showcasing Anambra’s cultural heritage.
The Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) has endorsed the initiative, describing cultural festivals as important tools for preserving heritage, attracting visitors and driving local economic growth.
As preparations gather momentum, stakeholders say ANUFEST could become a major platform for tourism, investment and cultural promotion in Anambra and beyond.
