China has reaffirmed its commitment to fully implementing all agreements reached with African countries under the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
Speaking in Beijing, Deputy Director of the FOCAC Office at China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shuai Guipeng, said Africa remains an equal partner in the cooperation framework. He stressed that the relationship is based on mutual respect, shared responsibility and joint development rather than a donor-recipient model.
Guipeng noted that China-Africa cooperation has expanded beyond infrastructure delivery to include joint management and operation of completed projects. He cited Kenya’s Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway as an example of collaboration designed to ensure long-term sustainability and local benefits.
China also expressed confidence that all commitments made at the FOCAC Beijing Summit will be delivered before the next ministerial meeting, reaffirming its pledge to deepen cooperation and strengthen development partnerships across Africa.
