Nollywood actress Rachael Okoronkwo has launched her motivational book, Odogwu Girl, urging young people—particularly women—to embrace resilience, consistency and self-belief as the foundation for success. Speaking at the unveiling in Lagos, she said the book was written to inspire women to overcome challenges and pursue purposeful lives.
Okoronkwo stressed that success is not determined by gender, background or past failures but by hard work, determination and continuous personal development. She encouraged women to focus on building lasting value, acquiring relevant skills and staying committed to their long-term goals instead of seeking validation from society.
Reflecting on her personal journey, the actress recounted losing her father at 13 and her mother in 2020, saying the experiences strengthened her resolve to remain focused on her dreams. She noted that life’s setbacks should not define anyone’s future, adding that discipline, positive values and resilience have shaped both her career and personal growth.
At the event, businesswoman Grace Ofure-Ibhakhomu urged women to remain determined despite obstacles, while CSR expert Mary Ephraim Egbas described Okoronkwo’s story as an inspiration to aspiring leaders. The ceremony featured the official unveiling of Odogwu Girl, alongside musical performances and keynote presentations celebrating resilience, purpose and women’s empowerment.
