Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and security agencies for the successful rescue of 46 pupils and teachers who were abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Makinde described the development as a major relief for the state and the country, saying the safe return of the victims had remained his administration’s top priority since they were kidnapped.
Makinde also commended the Nigerian Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigerian military for working together to secure the victims’ freedom.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across Oyo State and ensuring the safety of residents, especially schoolchildren, while urging continued cooperation among all security stakeholders to prevent similar incidents.
