A 28-year-old bakery worker, Sarah Amos, was on Thursday July 9 docked in a Magistrates’ Court in Kaduna for allegedly stealing four bags of flour.
The Prosecution Counsel, Inspector Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendant who works in a bakery belonging to Garba Haruna, located along NEPA roundabout, Kawo, Kaduna on June 28 stole four bags of flour worth 350,000 naira. The prosecution said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 217 of the Kaduna State Penal Code, 2017.
Amos pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of 200,000 naira with one surety in like sum. He said that the surety must be gainfully employed and must present evidence of one years tax payment to the Kaduna State Government.
The magistrate adjourned the case until August 5, for hearing.
