Ogun State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has urged teachers to embrace purposeful teaching, describing them as the first people to identify, nurture and unlock the potential of every child through quality education.
Speaking at the Teachers Conference 2026, Ogun State Edition in Sagamu, Salako-Oyedele said teachers play a critical role in shaping minds, building character and inspiring future leaders. She encouraged educators to remain compassionate, competent and exemplary, noting that students often remember the values and encouragement they receive from their teachers long after leaving the classroom.
The deputy governor reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration to strengthening the education sector through sustained reforms, strategic investments and partnerships that improve learning outcomes and provide greater support for teachers across the state.
Also speaking, Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Childcare and Alpha Chains Ltd., Mrs. Caroline Popoola, encouraged teachers to adopt innovative teaching methods that stimulate curiosity, promote meaningful classroom engagement and maximise available learning resources.
Earlier, Sparkle Foundation CEO, Mrs. Olasinbo Ojuroye, described teachers as agents of societal transformation, revealing that the foundation has supported more than 5,000 pupils with educational materials, solar-powered ICT facilities and vocational training programmes aimed at improving learning and promoting self-reliance among young people.
