KOGI VARSITY OVERHAULS CAMPUS SECURITY, APPOINTS EX-CSP AYEGBA AS NEW SECURITY CHIEF

The Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) Anyigba has approved a comprehensive restructuring of its security system and appointed retired CSP, Israel Ayegba, as the new Chief Security Coordinator, (CSC).

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Salisu Usman, in a statement on Friday July 3 in Lokoja, issued by Uredo Omale, the Public Relations Officer of PAAU, said the appointment is with immediate effect.

CSP Ayegba is only the second CSC appointed in PAAU’s history, after retired Major M. J. Adama. Consequently, the PAAU Chief Security Officer, Mr Emmanuel Attah, will now report directly to him. The new CSC is to develop a comprehensive security framework, advise Management on policies and strategies, coordinate operations, and ensure greater efficiency in the institution’s security system.

Ayegba served over 35 years in the Nigerian Police Force, where he served has DPO, and was personal aide to two former IGPs. He served as Criminal Records and Intelligence Officer at the National Assembly Senate Chamber. He also served in the African Union Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan. He holds a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Security Studies, and a Diploma in Public Administration.

The VC, while reaffirming the university’s Management’s commitment to reforms aimed at safeguarding lives and property, urged students to shun cultism and criminality, and called for full cooperation with the new security framework.
