EKITI GOVT TO COVER MEDICAL BILLS, PROVIDE TRAUMA CARE FOR RESCUED CAC WORSHIPPERS

Listen

The Ekiti State Government has announced that it will fully cover the medical expenses of worshippers abducted during a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) crusade in Eda Oniyo and recently rescued after spending 67 days in captivity.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji made the pledge during a visit to the victims at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti, where they are receiving treatment. He said the government would also provide psychological support to aid their recovery and reintegration, describing their ordeal as traumatic.

Oyebanji commended President Bola Tinubu, the Nigeria Police Force, the military, other security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders and members of the Eda Oniyo Community Development Association for their roles in securing the victims’ release.

Governor Oyebanji reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property, stating that efforts were being intensified to strengthen security and make Ekiti State hostile to criminal elements. He also urged residents not to politicise security issues, stressing that public safety requires collective responsibility.
