FG WELCOMES SUSPENSION OF OYO TEACHERS’ STRIKE, HAILS DIALOGUE-BASED RESOLUTION

The Federal Government has welcomed the suspension of the teachers’ strike in Oyo State, describing it as a major win for dialogue and a positive step toward restoring uninterrupted learning for students.

Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, said the resolution was achieved through sustained engagement between the Federal Ministry of Education, the Oyo State Government and the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) at various levels. He expressed satisfaction that teachers are now returning to classrooms and academic activities can resume.

Alausa commended Governor Seyi Makinde and the NUT leadership for resolving the dispute through constructive discussions in the interest of learners. He also praised teachers nationwide for their commitment and resilience in shaping the future of Nigerian children.

The minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring that every child has access to quality education, stressing that collaboration among governments, unions and stakeholders remains key to keeping schools open and learning uninterrupted across the country.
