Troops of Joint Task Force South-East, Operation UDO KA, have arrested a suspected armourer and logistics courier allegedly linked to attacks on oil installations and security personnel in Imo State.
According to the Nigerian Army, the suspect was apprehended during a search-and-raid operation conducted by troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade along the Akpe Aggah–Egbema Forest axis following credible intelligence. The operation took place in the early hours of July 1 at Obiakpu Forest.
The Army said preliminary investigations suggest the suspect served as a key armourer for a criminal network operating in the Ohaji-Egbema area. Security operatives recovered several weapons, including AK-47, M4A1 and M16A2 rifles, magazines, pump-action guns, a locally fabricated pistol and assorted ammunition.
Military authorities said the arrest and weapons recovery have disrupted the group’s logistics and operational capabilities. The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue, while the Army has called on members of the public to provide credible information to support ongoing security operations.
