The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it seized more than 12,700 kilogrammes of illicit drugs and arrested 1,107 suspects in Kaduna State between June 2025 and June 2026.

According to the Kaduna State Commander of NDLEA, CN Maijama’a Muhammad, the seizures included cannabis, tramadol, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and other psychotropic substances. He said the operations were part of sustained efforts to disrupt drug trafficking networks and prevent harmful substances from reaching communities.

The command also secured 251 convictions from 297 court cases during the period and admitted 94 persons into treatment and rehabilitation programmes, with 78 successfully rehabilitated. In addition, anti-drug awareness campaigns reached thousands of students, youths, workers and community groups across the state.

Muhammad said the agency dismantled 662 drug joints and strengthened partnerships with schools, traditional rulers, religious leaders and other stakeholders through its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign. He stressed that combating drug abuse requires collective action and urged communities to continue supporting prevention, rehabilitation and enforcement efforts.
