The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has arrested a 43-year-old non-teaching staff member of a public primary school in Ilorin over the alleged defilement of a 14-year-old Primary 4 pupil.

The suspect, identified as Amuda Kamaldeen Olubukola, was apprehended following a complaint lodged with the Gender Unit of the Command.

According to findings from preliminary investigation, the suspect allegedly engaged in unlawful sexual intercourse with the minor on several occasions inside his office within the school premises. The case came to public attention after the girl’s mother reported that her daughter was pregnant. During interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted to the offence but blamed “the devil”.

Reacting to the development, the Kwara State Commandant of the NSCDC, Abbas Nda Mohammed, described the act as a serious violation of the rights and dignity of a child, assuring that justice would be pursued.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting children and ensuring that perpetrators of sexual and gender-based violence are brought to justice.
