Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested three women suspected of collaborating with terrorists in an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State. The women are Aisha Mustapha, 19, Astakawu Bura, 23, and Zarah Bukar, 50.
An operational report made available on Sunday June 21 revealed that the operation carried out by troops of the 222 Battalion followed intelligence and lawful communication intercepts.
According to the report, preliminary investigations indicated that the women allegedly maintained contacts with terrorist elements and were involved in arrangements connected to movements into insurgent-controlled areas. The women have been taken into military custody and are assisting investigators.
The arrest, the report stated, forms part of ongoing efforts by Operation Hadin Kai to dismantle terrorist support networks and prevent infiltration within displaced persons camps and host communities.
