The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 40-year-old man, AbdulRauf Ambali, over allegations of incest, sexual abuse of his 14-year-old biological daughter, and involvement in a suspected abortion arrangement.
The arrest followed credible information from residents of Alapa in Asa Local Government Area, with the matter initially reported at the Alapa Divisional Office on June 16, 2026, before being transferred to the NSCDC Gender Unit for detailed investigation.
The case first came to the attention of the Corps when the suspect himself reported that his teenage daughter had been missing from home for about three weeks. However, NSCDC operatives who picked up the report and commenced investigation, were able to trace the girl who alleged that she deliberately ran away from home after months of sexual abuse, intimidation, and threats from her father.
She further claimed she had been living with her grandmother before being taken to her father in December 2025 under the promise of care and support, but was instead subjected to repeated sexual assault. Investigators also gathered that the girl became pregnant in May 2026 as a result of the alleged abuse, and arrangements were allegedly made to terminate the pregnancy.
During interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted to having unlawful sexual relations with the minor.
Reacting to the development, the Kwara State Commandant of the NSCDC, Abbas Ndah Mohammed, condemned the alleged act, describing it as a heinous act of betrayal and violation. He reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to protecting vulnerable persons, especially children, and to intensifying efforts against sexual and gender-based violence across Kwara State.
He also urged members of the public to report cases of abuse and criminality promptly, assuring that such information would be treated with confidentiality and professionalism.
