Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and elected officials across Yagba Federal Constituency have defended the emergence of Leke Abejide as the party’s candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Speaking under the platform of the Leke Abejide Support Group (LASG), the party leaders said Abejide’s victory in the APC primary election reflected the choice of party members across the constituency. They dismissed criticisms surrounding the outcome, insisting that the process was transparent and democratic.
The group maintained that Abejide earned his candidacy through the support of APC members and urged party faithful to respect the outcome of the primary election. They also argued that democratic processes should allow party members to choose their preferred representatives.
The APC leaders further highlighted Abejide’s record in office, citing education, empowerment, and community development initiatives as factors they believe contributed to his support within the constituency. They called on members and supporters to remain united as the party moves forward.
