RANO EMIR URGES GREATER INVESTMENT IN WOMEN, CHILDREN

Listen

The Emir of Rano in Kano State, Alhaji Muhammad Isa-Umaru, has urged governments, philanthropists, and development partners to increase investment in programmes that support the progress of women and children in society.

The Emir made the call on Wednesday June 10 in Rano, during the launch of free healthcare services and vocational training for pregnant mothers, married women, widows, and young girls in the emirate.

The programme, facilitated by the Sahima Charity Foundation, aims to improve access to healthcare, promote economic self-reliance, and support education among vulnerable groups in the area.

Beneficiaries received training in the production of Humra perfume, scented oil mixtures, liquid detergent, Izal disinfectant, and modern graphic design techniques such as flyer production.

A cross section of beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the foundation for the support and appealed to the local council to provide a suitable marketplace where they can sell their products.
