Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intensified counter-terrorism operations in the North-East, with the military reporting that more than 50 terrorists were neutralised in recent operations across Borno State.
According to an operational report, a precision airstrike around Kirta and Arina Ciki targeted several terrorist commanders, including Khalifa Umar, identified by the military as a member of the ISWAP Shura Council. The military said the sustained air offensive has increased pressure on insurgents and disrupted their activities.
The report also stated that troops arrested suspected logistics suppliers, informants and a deserter soldier in separate operations around Maiduguri and neighbouring areas. Recovered items included a rifle, magazines, a vehicle, fuel and other materials allegedly linked to terrorist support activities.
Military authorities said ongoing operations are focused on disrupting terrorist networks, cutting supply routes and restricting freedom of movement, while efforts continue to improve security and stability across the region.
