NIGERIAN ARMY PUSHES INDIGENOUS INNOVATION IN FIGHT AGAINST INSECURITY

The Nigerian Army says it is intensifying efforts to tackle insecurity by adopting indigenous innovation and strengthening the combat readiness of its personnel.

This was stated by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, at the opening of the Nigerian Army Combat Support Arms Training Week 2026 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. He said the initiative is designed to improve operational capacity within a joint security framework.

The Army also acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu in logistics and welfare, while stressing the importance of discipline and adherence to rules of engagement by personnel.

The Akwa Ibom State Government pledged continued collaboration with the military and described the training focus as timely and important for national security.
