Listen

The Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Ojo Adekimi, has issued a stern warning to officers and men of the command, declaring that acts of indiscipline, misconduct, extortion and abuse of authority will no longer be tolerated within the Nigeria Police Force.

Adekimi delivered this warning during a strategic meeting with senior officers within the force, where he reinforced the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, on professionalism and accountability.

Adekimi stressed that the era of impunity was over, urging personnel to conduct themselves at all times, in manners that reflect the integrity and discipline expected of police officers. He warned that officers found erring would face disciplinary measures in line with police regulations. He also reminded officers of the provisions of the Force’s Social Media Policy, warning against reckless and unauthorized online activities.

As part of efforts to strengthen community policing and improve public safety, Adekimi directed all Divisional Police Officers to deepen collaboration with religious, educational and social groups in their locality, stressing that such partnership would help safeguard schools, places of worship and other vulnerable public locations from emerging security threats.

The commissioner reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing, accountability and effective service delivery, assuring residents that the police would continue to protect lives and property while enforcing discipline among its personnel.
