The Ogun State Police Command says it has arrested a father, his son and another suspect during separate intelligence-led operations carried out across the state.
According to the command, operatives recovered four firearms, one live cartridge and a stolen Tecno Android phone during the operations. The arrests were made in different locations including Afon, Ilisan-Remo and Ode-Remo.
Police said one suspect was arrested over alleged theft and illegal possession of firearms, while another was accused of stealing a dane gun from a residence where renovation work was ongoing. Authorities also confirmed the recovery of an abandoned locally fabricated pistol during patrol operations.
The Command says all cases have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution, while residents have been encouraged to remain security conscious and report suspicious activities.
