The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, has deployed 670 personnel across the state ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to ensure peace and security.
According to the Command, the deployment includes officers from tactical teams, special forces, anti-vandalism units, and the Rapid Response Squad. Personnel have been stationed at Eid prayer grounds, worship centres, recreational areas, and other key locations.
The NSCDC says the exercise is aimed at safeguarding lives, property, and critical infrastructure during the festive period. Officers have also been directed to work closely with other security agencies and maintain professionalism in their duties.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to security authorities as the celebration continues.
