Diplomats and international relations experts have called for stronger implementation of African Union (AU) integration frameworks as Africa marks the 2026 Africa Day.
Speaking at a news conference in Abuja, Prof. Tunji Asaolu of the African School of Diplomacy and International Relations said the continent must go beyond discussions and focus on practical steps toward unity and development.
The event, which commemorates the 63rd anniversary of the AU, carried the theme “One Africa, One Voice, One Future: Renewing the Call for the United States of Africa.”
He urged African leaders, policymakers, civil society, and young people to support efforts aimed at strengthening cooperation, unity, and long-term continental growth.
