The Lagos State Police Command has denied reports alleging that a woman was detained after being invited for questioning over the death of her elder sister.
In a statement posted on its official X handle, @LagosPoliceNG, the Command said the woman was only invited to provide information to assist ongoing investigations and was not detained as claimed.
The clarification followed social media claims that the woman was held at Morogbo Police Station in Agbara after being invited in connection with an incident involving the death of her sibling during an armed robbery in the Oko-Afo area of Badagry.
The Police Command stated that the case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, for further investigation, and urged residents to remain calm while assuring that appropriate steps are being taken to ensure justice.
