The Kaduna State Police Command says it has arrested 10 suspected bandits and recovered eight firearms in separate operations across the state.
Police spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, said the arrests followed investigations into criminal conspiracy and illegal arms dealing linked to earlier cases transferred from Ikara Division.
In one operation, five suspects were arrested and several fabricated firearms were recovered, including AK-47 rifles and pistols. Police said preliminary findings indicate involvement in illegal arms sales to suspected bandits operating within Ikara and nearby communities.
In other intelligence-led operations, additional suspects were arrested in Kubau Local Government Area, while another AK-47 rifle was recovered from a residence in Ikara, where a suspect is still at large. The Commissioner of Police warned against illegal possession and supply of firearms, assuring continued operations to strengthen security across the state.
