SAUDI ARABIA UNVEILS NEW PROJECTS TO IMPROVE 2026 HAJJ, UMRAH EXPERIENCE

Listen

Saudi authorities have unveiled major initiatives aimed at improving movement, access and overall experience for pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj and Umrah seasons.

During a media tour in Makkah, the Saudi General Authority for Media Regulation showcased key projects designed to support millions of visitors expected for Hajj and Umrah.

One of the major highlights is the “Masar Destination” project, a new entrance corridor into Makkah created to ease movement for residents and pilgrims. Officials said the development includes dedicated roads, underground parking spaces, bus stations and pedestrian-friendly access routes leading toward Al-Haram.

Authorities also introduced media teams to several religious and heritage sites, including the International Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization, the Clock Tower Museum, and the Kaaba Kiswa Factory, where the history and craftsmanship behind the Kaaba’s covering are displayed.

Saudi officials say the projects are part of broader efforts to improve comfort, accessibility and the overall pilgrimage experience for visitors from around the world.
