RIVERS POLICE REAFFIRM 10PM TRICYCLE RESTRICTION OVER ‘ONE CHANCE’ CRIMES

Listen

The Rivers State Police Command has reminded residents that restrictions on tricycle movements from 10:00 p.m. remain in effect across the state.

Police say the measure is part of ongoing efforts to tackle “one chance” abductions, robberies and other violent crimes in Port Harcourt and surrounding areas.

The command also announced that from May 18, commercial tricycles will no longer be allowed to operate with tinted glass or coverings that hide passengers from public view. Authorities said any tricycle violating the directive could be impounded, while operators risk arrest and prosecution.

Residents have also been advised to stay alert while commuting, avoid isolated pick-up points at night, and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station. The police say collaboration with communities remains important in improving public safety.
