Team Nigeria has secured two more spots for the World Championships in Beijing at the 2026 World Athletics Relays in Botswana.
The mixed 4×400m team—featuring Samson Nathaniel, Taiwo Kudoro, Chidi Okezie, and Patience Okon-George—delivered a season’s best (3:12.88) to finish second and qualify automatically.
The women’s 4×100m team also bounced back in style. After a baton error earlier, the quartet clocked 42.94s to finish second behind France in the repechage, sealing their ticket.
However, the men’s 4×400m team narrowly missed out, finishing third in their heat.
So far, Nigeria has secured three qualification slots from the championships—showing grit, recovery, and serious speed.
