Ikorodu City FC have done it again, edging G-12 FC 1-0 to clinch the 2026 Lagos Federation Cup—and their third title in just a few years.
The final at Mobolaji Johnson Arena delivered drama, but it was captain Tosin Oyedokun who settled it in the 76th minute with a stunning long-range strike that left the goalkeeper with no chance.
G-12 put up a strong fight, but couldn’t find the breakthrough. Their coach, Olusanjo Olutayo, admitted fatigue and the challenge of facing a top-tier side played a role, though he praised his team’s effort and resilience.
On the winning side, Ikorodu City coach Bright Ozebagbe hailed his players’ discipline and hunger, saying the focus now shifts to going even further in the National Federation Cup.
For Lagos FA chairman Gafar Liameed, the match was a win for grassroots football, especially with G-12’s impressive run—knocking out bigger teams along the way.
With titles in 2023, 2024, and now 2026, Ikorodu City are fast building a reputation as a dominant force in Lagos football—and they’re not slowing down anytime soon.
