Abuja, — Team Nigeria has emerged overall winner in the women’s category at the African Wrestling Championships in Alexandria, Egypt, securing a record 15th title.
The team delivered a dominant performance, winning eight gold and two silver medals out of 10 events to seal the championship.
While the women stole the spotlight, the men’s team also impressed, finishing third overall with a mix of silver and bronze medals.
The tournament, which featured 18 events, saw Nigeria field a strong squad of male and female wrestlers, reinforcing its dominance on the continent.
