Gusau — Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal has applauded the peaceful and orderly conduct of APC congresses across the state, describing the process as a major boost for party unity and grassroots strength.
About 745 delegates from 147 wards across all 14 LGAs participated, producing new party executives through a consensus arrangement—an outcome the governor says reflects discipline and internal cohesion.
The exercise was overseen by a committee chaired by Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, adding credibility to the process.
Lawal called the congress “timely and strategic,” noting that strong political structures are key to effective governance. He stressed that unity within the party would translate into better delivery in key sectors like security, agriculture, healthcare, and infrastructure.
He also charged the new executives to see their roles as a call to service and accountability, while expressing confidence in their ability to lead with integrity.
Meanwhile, the newly elected chairman, Kabiru Birnin-Magaji, has pledged to deepen internal democracy and promote inclusive leadership.
