With elections ahead, Abia residents are being urged to do one key thing first—get their Permanent Voter Cards.

Nsulu, Abia State, — Governor Alex Otti has launched a grassroots mobilisation campaign across Abia State, urging residents to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the upcoming Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) registration exercise.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr Caleb Ajagba, Otti made the call during a community engagement event in Nsulu, saying the PVC remains essential for citizens to exercise their civic rights.

He noted that the registration window from May to August presents an important opportunity for eligible voters to participate fully in the democratic process.

The governor also said the engagement programme is designed to strengthen grassroots participation and allow government officials to receive direct feedback on projects and policies.

According to him, his administration remains committed to inclusive governance and delivering visible development across communities in Abia State.

Residents of Agburuke community expressed support for the governor, praising ongoing infrastructure projects and pledging continued political backing.

They also commended the PVC mobilisation effort, describing it as a step toward stronger civic participation.
