Abuja — The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the FCT has commended Private Guard Companies for complying with licence renewals and ongoing training of personnel.
Commandant Olusola Odumosu said the improved compliance is boosting intelligence gathering and strengthening security across the capital.
However, he warned that firms failing to renew licences or train their guards risk being sealed, as the command intensifies enforcement.
Odumosu stressed that regular training—covering intelligence, self-defence, and security tactics—is key to helping private guards support security agencies effectively.
He also highlighted challenges such as limited patrol vehicles, motorcycles, and communication gadgets, noting that criminals often exploit these gaps.
Despite this, he reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining security and called for more operational support to improve surveillance across Abuja.
