NATIONWIDE EXAM LOCKDOWN: POLICE DEPLOY ACROSS NIGERIA FOR JAMB

Listen

From Abuja to Calabar, it’s the same message — write your exams, not your own drama.

The Nigeria Police Force has rolled out a nationwide security operation, deploying personnel and assets to JAMB centres across the country to ensure a smooth exam season.

The move, directed by the Inspector-General of Police, aims to guarantee the safety of candidates, officials, and facilities throughout the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In states like Cross River, Commissioner Rashid Afegbua says officers have been strategically positioned to maintain order and respond swiftly to any threats.

Police spokesperson Sunday Eitokpah added that operatives have been instructed to stay professional but firm — cracking down on exam malpractice, disorderly conduct, and any security breaches.

Coverage extends beyond exam halls to surrounding areas and access routes, with collaboration across security agencies to ensure no gaps.

The police are also urging candidates, parents, and the public to cooperate and report suspicious activities promptly.

With exams running nationwide from April 16 to 25, authorities say it’s full security mode across Nigeria.

Wherever you’re writing JAMB, the police are already there.
