NPFL: WIKKI, NASARAWA SETTLE FOR POINTS IN BAUCHI STALEMATE

Early goals, missed penalty and plenty of grit as both sides share the spoils

Wikki Tourists and Nasarawa United played out a 1–1 draw in their NPFL Matchday 24 clash on Sunday at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.

Nasarawa United struck first in the 28th minute, with Izuchukwu Chimezie punishing a defensive lapse to put the visitors ahead. Wikki responded before halftime as Jonathan Mairiga found the net in the 41st minute, restoring parity.

The second half was tense and tactical. Wikki Tourists had a golden chance to snatch all three points but missed a penalty, allowing Nasarawa United to escape with a share of the points.

The result leaves Wikki Tourists 14th on the table with 28 points from 24 games.

Post-match, Wikki coach Bala Saleh blamed fatigue from a tight run of fixtures but remains confident ahead of their clash with Katsina United. Nasarawa United assistant coach Stephen Moga praised his side’s discipline and composure on the road.
