Nollywood filmmaker and actress Toyin Abraham has announced December 16 as the nationwide cinema release date for her latest family comedy-drama, “Bestie”, with advance ticket sales scheduled to begin on November 1.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Abraham, who produced and directed the movie, announced the release date and pre-sale details on her official Instagram page. In a promotional post, she highlighted the close relationship between two central characters, Ngozi and Peter, describing their bond as one built on deep affection and love.

Abraham also features in the film alongside veteran actors Pete Edochie and Sola Sobowale, who play Papa Ngozi and Mama Ngozi, respectively. Maurice Sam portrays Peter, while Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, plays Suzy Baby.

Other cast members include Reminisce as Kazeem and Yakubu Mohammed as Hassan. However, the filmmaker has yet to reveal the full storyline and broader themes of the production.

“Bestie” is expected to join other Nollywood releases competing for audiences during the busy December cinema season. Abraham’s previous cinema release, “Oversabi Aunty”, reportedly crossed the one-billion-naira mark at the Nigerian box office.
