The Nigerian Navy has dismissed as fake a recruitment notice circulating on social media, purportedly announcing a 2026 Batch 39 recruitment exercise.
The Director of Naval Information, Capt. Abiodun Folorunsho, on Monday September 21, said the notice was not authorised and urged prospective applicants and members of the public to disregard recruitment information from unofficial social media accounts, websites and other sources.
Folorunsho said official information on Nigerian Navy recruitment, including eligibility requirements, application procedures, timelines and recruitment categories, would only be released through authorised Navy channels. He identified the official recruitment website as joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng and the Navy’s official website as navy.mil.ng.
He also warned applicants against making payments to individuals, agents or unauthorised platforms, stressing that Nigerian Navy recruitment is free and that the service does not authorise third parties to recruit applicants or collect fees on its behalf.
