The Nigerian Army has called on Ecobank Nigeria to develop flexible financial schemes and expand welfare support for officers, soldiers and their families.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, made the call when Ecobank Managing Director, Bolaji Lawal, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to Army Headquarters in Abuja. Shaibu said the partnership between both institutions has lasted for more than two decades.
The COAS urged the bank to develop financial products tailored to the needs of military personnel and expand its Corporate Social Responsibility interventions to support wounded-in-action personnel, widows and children of fallen soldiers.
Ecobank said it was ready to deepen the partnership through specialised banking, insurance and lending solutions. The bank also plans to extend bespoke financial services to major Army institutions and formations across the country.
