Trading activity on the Nigerian Exchange Ltd. recorded a significant decline this week, with the value of transactions falling by 47.4 per cent to N130.151 billion.
Investors traded 3.647 billion shares across 244,777 deals, compared with 4.360 billion shares worth N210.331 billion traded in 223,284 deals the previous week. The Financial Services Industry led the market in volume, accounting for 2.909 billion shares valued at N56.668 billion.
The NGX All-Share Index also declined by 1.60 per cent to close at 243,052.74, while market capitalisation fell by 1.24 per cent to N157.587 trillion.
Nine equities appreciated during the week, while 80 declined and 58 remained unchanged. The figures highlight a weaker trading week on the exchange, even as some market segments recorded gains.
