Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State on Tuesday July 28, distributed 360 bags of fertilisers to farmers to boost food production. Beneficiaries were members of the Association of All Farmers of Nigeria (AFAN), Agbado/Oke-Odo Chapter.
The Vice Chairman, Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Mr Kehinde Shobayo, who represented the Chairman, Mr Abiodun Ejigbadero, said that the gesture showed the administration’s commitment to farmers and to people-oriented initiatives. He said that agriculture ensured growth and the initiative would boost food sufficiency in the community. He urged beneficiaries to use the input judiciously.
Mrs Titilayo Obayomi, Supervisor for Agriculture and Rural Development to the council said that investing in farmers was key. She said that the intervention underscored the administration’s commitment to boost crop yields and promote sustainable agricultural development across the council.
Also speaking, the Chairman of AFAN, Mr Adewale Okubanjo while expressing appreciation for the administration’s consistent support, pledged judicious use of the fertilisers.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, saying that the fertiliser would help reduce cost, increase yield, and ensure food availability in the community.
