Enugu Air has confirmed that one of its aircraft experienced a runway excursion while landing at Benin Airport on Thursday July 23, assuring the public that all 63 passengers and five crew members on board are safe.
The airline said everyone on board safely disembarked from the aircraft, with no injuries or casualties recorded. It added that the aircraft has been secured and the relevant aviation authorities have been notified in line with standard safety procedures.
According to Enugu Air, investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, while an assessment of the aircraft is ongoing. The airline also warned that the occurrence could lead to temporary adjustments to some flight schedules, with affected passengers to be contacted directly and assisted.
Enugu Air reaffirmed that the safety of its passengers, crew and operations remains its top priority and pledged to provide further updates through its official communication channels as more information becomes available.
