Egypt reinforced their dominance in African youth table tennis by winning three of the four team titles at the 2026 ITTF Africa Youth Championships in Accra, Ghana.
The North African side claimed the U-15 boys’, U-15 girls’ and U-19 girls’ titles after defeating Nigeria, Tunisia and Algeria respectively in Wednesday’s finals at the Borteyman Sports Complex.
Defending champions Nigeria reached the U-15 boys’ final after edging hosts Ghana 3-2 in a thrilling semi-final, but were outclassed 3-0 by Egypt. Ahmed Elsabbagh, Asser Sameh and Hussein Eyad each recorded straight-games victories to seal the title for the Egyptians.
Egypt also reclaimed the U-15 girls’ crown with a 3-1 victory over Tunisia and successfully defended the U-19 girls’ title after a commanding 3-0 win against Algeria, underlining the country’s continued supremacy in African youth table tennis.
