The University of Calabar (UniCal) has reminded students that the ban on wild post-examination celebrations remains in force across the campus and its surroundings.
The university’s management expressed concern over the tendency of some students, particularly finalists, to engage in reckless driving, flying of colours and other disorderly activities after writing their final examinations. It warned that such actions pose safety and security risks to members of the university community.
According to the Registrar, Dr Chukwuka Icha, students found violating the directive will face sanctions. The university also directed its security unit to ensure strict enforcement of the ban and maintain order on campus.
The renewed warning comes amid ongoing efforts to promote safety and prevent incidents linked to uncontrolled celebrations. UniCal has urged all students to celebrate responsibly and comply with university regulations.
