A section of the New Gombe State House of Assembly Complex currently under construction has collapsed, leaving one worker dead and seven others injured.
The Gombe State Ministry of Works, Housing and Transportation confirmed that the incident occurred on Friday and involved a section of the building’s cantilevered entrance canopy. According to officials, the injured workers were rushed to hospitals for treatment, with five receiving care at the Gombe State Specialist Hospital and two at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe.
