As Nigerians mark Democracy Day, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is urging all road users to make safety a top priority and help ensure a crash-free holiday period.
In a goodwill message, FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed noted that public holidays often come with increased movement of people and vehicles across the country. He warned that speeding, dangerous driving, disregard for traffic rules, and other unsafe behaviours can increase the risk of road crashes.
The corps marshal called on motorists to obey traffic regulations, avoid reckless driving practices, and exercise patience on the roads. He also encouraged passengers to speak up when drivers engage in unsafe actions that could endanger lives.
FRSC says it will continue strategic patrols, traffic management, and emergency response operations throughout the holiday period. The agency reminded Nigerians that the best way to celebrate is to ensure every journey ends safely.
