The Nigerian Navy says it is committed to the educational and health support of students in Cross River as part of its obligation to national development and human capacity building.
Capt. David Odu, Command Education Officer, Eastern Naval Command (ENC), said this on Tuesday May 26 in Calabar, during an educational and medical outreach as part of the Nigerian Navy 70th anniversary celebration.
Odu said that the outreach demonstrated the Nigerian Navy’s enduring commitment to national development, human capacity building, and civil-military cooperation.
Rear Admiral Chidozie Okehie, Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of the ENC, represented by Surgeon Commander Ahmadu Mohammed, Commander of Nigeria Navy Reference Hospital, Calabar, noted that education remained the most important weapon needed to change the world, thus the inclusion of education and medical outreach in the anniversary programme.
